Question
i have a 1937 paul von hindenburg 2 mark coin. it has the eagle holding the swastika and its double die obverse it is very good condition any idea on what its worth. i heard it was very rare.

Answer
Hi David, the Paul von Hindenburg 2 Mark coins were minted 1936-39 with the swastika. It contains .1607 of an ounce of silver.
A mintmark letter is located behind his collar which may affect its value. The most common, with an A (Berlin), had a mintage of 23.4 million and may be worth about $3 to $12 depending on amount of wear and collector demand. A double-die error coin would be worth more depending on who you ask.
You might try Ebay.com for similar pieces for comparison.
You might take it by a local coin shop for a first hand opinion: http://find.mapmuse.com/interest/coin_dealers
You might also try a library for a copy of the Standard Catalog of World Coins for pictures, values and lots more interesting info.
