Question
If you hold the coin face up and flip the coin ,the loon is upside down. Is this a error coin? American coins if you flip them they are right side up when you flip them. Have I got a rare error coin?

Answer
Hi William, Most world coins are struck with 'coin rotation'. This means when looking at the face, if it is flipped over left to right, or right to left, the opposite side is upside down. If the other side is right side up then it is called 'medal rotation'. It is uncommon for coins of a single type to have both types of rotation but it is not a definite sign of a counterfeit or rare coin.
Canadian coins have medal rotation so this one is normal.
