within an inherited coin collection I have found this coin which looks chinese but I cannot find it anywhere in a book or on the internet BUT ... somebody else has the very same one listed on ebay with the article number 140372471810 ... please look it up and tell me something about it .. if possible .. 2 Troy oz. 999 fine silver 1987 2 bears sitting beside each other looking over the ocean.

Thanks a lot for any explanation ...

Kristina

Answer
Hi Kristina, This is a privately issued piece, not an actual coin, and is called a 'silver round', usually a one Troy ounce (31.1 grams) of silver piece. In this case it is 2 ounces, currently worth about $37.
It is worth the silver value plus whatever else someone may pay for it.
