Question
I too have a 1967 Confederation set in a red vinyl display box inscribed as Royal Canadian Mint Ottawa and also in French. It  has a 1c, 5c, 10c, 25c, 50c, and a $1 coin. The only other item in the box is what appears to be another silver coin with a shield and crown with CANADA on one side and a 5 point star of David design with a circular inscription CONFEDRERATION written twice and 1867 on top with 1967 below. My question is this last described coin appears to be silver is it silver?

Answer
Hi Tom, it is a sterling silver (92.5%) mint medal also commemorating the Canadian Centennial.
