Question

Coin
I have a coin approximately the size of a US quarter with chinese characters and flowers on both sides. Are you able to identify it using the attached photo? Thank you.

Answer
Hi John, There were 321.7 million of these copper-nickel Republic of China (Taiwan) 1 Dollar coins minted that year 49 of the Republic (1960AD). It may be worth about .10 with that amount of wear.
You might also try a library for a copy of the Standard Catalog of World Coins for pictures, values and lots more interesting info.
