Question
Hello, I recently acquired a 1937 REPUBLICA DEL ECUADOR (Reverse side),UN SUCRE (on obverse side) coin. I have no idea what denomination or rarety or anything about it. Can you help me out?

Hi Cassidy, There were 9 million of these nickel 1 Sucre coins minted at the LeLocle mint (HF) in Switzerland that year featuring Antonio Sucre, the 'George Washington' of Ecuador. Collector value may be worth about .25 with heavy wear to around $1 with moderate wear to maybe $2 with light wear.
You might also try a library for a copy of the Standard Catalog of World Coins for pictures, values and lots more interesting info.

I was very confused because of the quality of the minting of the coin, it is in very, very good condition however, I had a hard time taking the coin serious because there is not an even surface anywhere on the coin(It looks like it belongs to a game of some sort). I find myself visiting this site more and more because of experts like, Brad Swain, and as a matter of fact every expert who has helped me with my collecting issues.
