Question

Eisenhower error??????
I have a Eisenhower Dollar wth a mark from just under the L in liberty down to the nose then down to between the G and O in God. It looks like the G and O are stamped over the mark.
Ever hear of anything like this?

Answer
Ed, I am not an expert in errors, and it's hard for me to get a good look at the picture, but my first thought is that the most likely explanation is some kind of damage or fooling around by someone after the piece was made.  I know there were a number of cents that were stamped with various things as novelty items (like Kennedy looking at Lincoln) and maybe this is that -- but I can't tell from the picture.  The only way to be sure is to show the actual item to an expert.  Jim Lawniczak
