Question
I found an old coin but I have never seen anything like this before, please tell what it is and if it is worth anything. One side has 1/2 Kreuzer 1859 the other side has Baden Scheide Munze with two birds a shield with a crown on it.

Answer
Hi Paulette, There were 219,000 of these copper 1/2 kreuzer from the southwestern German duchy of Baden minted that year. Collector value may be worth about $1 with heavy wear to around $6 with moderate wear to maybe $15 with light wear. 'Scheide Munze' means small change.
You might also try a library for a copy of the Standard Catalog of World Coins for pictures, values and lots more interesting info.
