Question

German Coin
Sorry for the lack of details.

The coin is silver

Answer
Hi Kathy, There were only 21,000 of these 'Mining' Thaler coins minted that year in Dresden (F) featuring Saxony's King Friedrich August II (1836-54). This 75% silver coin should weigh 22.2720 grams and would contain .5371 of an ounce of silver.
Collector value may be worth about $60 with heavy wear to around $150 with moderate wear to maybe $300 with light wear.
You might try Ebay.com for similar pieces for comparison.
You might also try a library for a copy of the Standard Catalog of World Coins for pictures, values and lots more interesting info.
