Coin and Paper Money Collecting/Indian head penny

Question
What is the differnce in the two 1886 pennies. The type I and the type II? Also on the 1864L where is the L located? It would be helpful to have a picture showing these differnces.
Thank you

Answer
Hi Larry,
First off, the "L" would be visible by the hair ribbon as it cascades down the back.  It is hard to see because the "L" is sideways.  If the coin is owrn, you will not see it.
If I remember correctly, the Ty1 and Ty2 1886 cents differ in the shape of the feathers.  Unfortunately, I do not handle enough Indian cents to be 100% certain.
