Question
I came across this coin in an antique flea market in KY. The front of coin is a bust of Liberty(facing left), The back has corn  & wheat stems. In fact the same design as the half cent minted in Philadelphia. Attempting to look this coin up brings the aforementioned half cent. Looks the same with the exception on the back is stamped 50 cents.  Can you add more detail to my pursuit. Thank you

Answer
You are confused. All American 1862 half dollars are the Seated Liberty Type. There are no American 1862 Bust Half Dollars. And there are no Confederate Half Dollars at all, except four that were made in 1861 using an American Sealed Half Dollar and those four are accounted for.
