Question
Hi-
I recently found a gold coin and wanted to see if you could provide me with what the value of it would be. I believe its from Peru from 1906.

The front side of the coin has a women with earrings and what looks to be a headband with feathers in the front of it and it reads:  Verdad I Justicaia 1/5 de Libra

The back side of the coin reads:
Republica Peruana Lima
Go-Oz-F
1906

If you aren't sure of the answer can you provide a person you think could help me out.

Thank you!

Answer
Hi Ally, There were 106,000 of these 22 karat gold Peruvian 1/5 Libra coins minted that year in Lima. This coin should weigh 1.5976 grams and would contain .0471 of an ounce of gold (currently about $52).
Current gold and silver values: http://www.kitco.com/market/ .
Collector value may be worth a little over the gold value depending on amount of wear and collector demand.
You might try Ebay.com for similar pieces for comparison.
You might also try a library for a copy of the Standard Catalog of World Coins for pictures, values and lots more interesting info.
