Coin and Paper Money Collecting/Spiel Marken

Question

Spiel Marken
I found this in a lot of foreign coins I picked up at an auction. From the words "Spiel Marken" on the reverse I am going to assume it is German however it is not in my "Standard Catalog of World Coins". Any idea of what this is or what it is worth? It is about the size of a US Quarter, has what appears to be an Angel blowing a horn & carrying a spear, hunting a deer with a dog and the details are really nice. I have attached a picture. I believe it is copper.

Answer
Hi Alex, 'spiel' is German for toy so this is a toy 1 Mark coin. It doesn't appear to be a simple child's toy coin but a German turn of the century piece perhaps meant as a counter or marker for use in a card game or such.
It may be difficult, if not impossible, to find out more info as these are usually not documented.
You might try Ebay.com for similar pieces for comparison.
I'd guess it is worth maybe $1 depending on amount of collector demand.
