Question
Dmitry,
I have a Swedish 1894 tio ore 10 coin and was wondering if it has any value.  Got this some time ago and just found where it was actually from.  The coin is in excellent condition. There is no profile on the reverse side just what looks like mirror F's crowned with three small crowns on each side and below.  Thank You for your assistance sir.

Answer
Hi Mark,
These older Swedish coins were made in fairly low numbers, yet they show up on the market frequently. As a result, condition is extremely important. A well used, typical coin starts at $5 or less, while an excellent example such as you describe often sells between $30 and $50. Perfect, mint condition coins are scarce and sell for $75 to $100+.
If you would like to post a follow-up question with a picture of the coin, I can give you more specific information on the condition and value.
Thanks for the question! =)

Expertise

My specialty is world coins from the 18th to 20th centuries, primarily non-US foreign coins and related areas such as errors and exonumia (tokens, medals, etc.). I can answer questions relating to identification, grading, selling, preservation and evaluation of such items. In addition to catalog value, I can give you the practical market value and trends for specific types of coins. I will also take questions regarding counterfeits (both modern and antique) and on how to identify them. I am NOT knowledgeable in paper money/banknotes, ancient or "shipwreck" coins. Thank you.
