Question
There is a canadian coin struck on a foreign planchette. It is only 1970 penny but sells for over 1000.00. Please explain what exactly this is
Thanks Sir

Answer
Hi Neil,
I am not aware of this particular coin.  However, when the term "foreign planchet" is used, it refers to a blank coin disk that would not normally be used in the striking.  It could be a blank used for another country as many mints, US and Canada included, strike coins for foreign governments.
I am sorry I can not be more specific, I simply have no knowledge of this particular error.
