Question
I have an non dated silver coin, 1 troy oz. .999. There's an eagle with a flag on one side and a scale on the other. I'm curious as to the history on it and its worth, if more than the standard price on silver. Thank you

Answer
Matt, I don't know of this piece, there were quite a few generic bullion pieces made of silver, and it seems like this is one.  I do have some knowledge of the token market and I can't imagine that collectors would get excited to pay a premium for an eagle and flag and scale (all fairly generic items).  So unless this piece has an unusual and highly desirable provenance, I don't see any premium over silver melt value.  You might try doing a search for something like silver eagle flag scale at www.ebay.com (and then www.google.com) to see if anyone is selling something like yours.  Perhaps add round or bullion to the search if too much comes up, Jim Lawniczak
