Coin and Paper Money Collecting/1988 Washington Quarter

Question
I have a 1988 Washington Quarter with no mint mark.  Is there any information on this.  I see that there is some on a 89 without a mint.  Thanks

Answer
The mintmark would be located by the "tail" of Washington's wig.  If there is no mintmark, the coin may have been altered or there was damage to the die when the coin was struck.  The coin would have to be examined under magnification to determine if there is even a trace of a mintmark.
Find a local professional error specialist to inspect the coin.
