Question
First, i have a 1979 U.S. dime, all seems normal but, it appears to have 2 print marks. It has the P to the left of 1979 and the D above the second 9 in 1979
Second, i came across a coin from my father that is of Zachary Taylor. on the top it reads 12th President U.S.A under that 1849 on the left side and 1850 on the right side. directly under that is Zachary Taylor, then below his iconic face it just says Zachary Taylor. (That is the best description i can give of the front). On the back, at the top reads "OLD ZACH" just along  the lining of the top of the coin. Underneath reads ROUGH AND READY A SOLDIER IN WAR OF 1812 ALSO IN BLACK HAWK SEMINOLE AND MEXICAN WARS FORTY YEARS MILITARY SERVICE, under that on the bottom lining of the coin reads "Hero of Mexican Wars".  I have tried to search this and came up with nothing, any info that can be provided would be much appreciated. Even if its some fake or "cracker Jack" toy that info would even be useful lol. Also it is silver, my dad has it sealed as if it were something real or special and the package he sealed it in says 25cents.  THANK YOU!

P.S. - Can get you picture if you would like.

Answer
Let's start with the Zachary Taylor MEDAL.
These were promotional items offered by gas stations in the 1960's.  There was a whole set of the presidents.  Maybe if you had the complete set it would have value, but one single coin just isn't collectable.  I'm sorry to say that this item has no value.
Now the dime.  The mintark is usually directly under the date.  It is raised just like the date.  If the mysterious letters are punched into the coin, that happened after it left the mint.
I have never heard of an error such as you are describing.  You need to have the coin physically inspected by a professional.
Good Luck!
