Question
My deceased husband had a bunch of coins in bags and one was a 1853 3 cent piece with no mint mark. It appears in very good shape.  Could you tell me the approx. worth.
Thank you.  Kathy Hagar

Answer
Hi Kathy,
First off, I am sorry for your loss.

Depending upon the condition, the coin can have a value of between $15 and $15.  However, if it it in mint condition, that value could be a few hundred dollars.  The coin would have to be inspected by a professional.  Whatever you do, do not clean the coin as this will ruin it's value.
