Question
I have heard wildly different estimates of this coin's value, and would like to know its approximate value. It is currently in excellent condition (bound within a no-claw setting as an antique necklace)

Answer
Hi Gary, There were 1.13 million of these minted that year featuring Queen Wilhelmina (1890-1948).
This coin should weigh 6.729 grams and would contain .1947 of an ounce of gold. It is likely worth a little over the gold value.
Current gold and silver values: http://www.kitco.com/market/ .
You might try Ebay.com for similar pieces for comparison.
You might also try a library for a copy of the Standard Catalog of World Coins for pictures, values and lots more interesting info.
