Question
I have a 1927 German coin. One side of the coin has an eagle in a shield and says Drei Reichsmark Deutsches Reich. The other side has a ship, the year 1927 and says, Hundart Jahre Bremerhaven. The edge of the coin has Navigare Necesse Est.  Can you tell me some history and value?  Thank you

Answer
Hi Karen, There were 150,000 of these German 3 Mark coins minted for the 100th anniversary of Bremerhaven.

It contains .2411 of an ounce of silver. Collector value may be worth about $30 with heavy wear to around $130 with moderate wear to maybe $190 with light wear.
You might try Ebay.com for similar pieces for comparison.
You might also try a library for a copy of the Standard Catalog of World Coins for pictures, values and lots more interesting info.
