would this coin in like new condition have any value. one side eireann saorstat, opposit 6d reul, nice dog
Hi Jerry, There were 3.2 million of these Irish 6 pence coins minted that year. It features an Irish Wolfhound and is made of nickel. Collector value may be worth about .25 with heavy wear to around $1 with moderate wear to maybe $5 with light wear to perhaps $17.50 if uncirculated (no wear).
You might try Ebay.com for similar pieces for comparison.
You might also try a library for a copy of the Standard Catalog of World Coins for pictures, values and lots more interesting info.
