Coin and Paper Money Collecting/1928 Lucky Nickel

Question
I have what I assume is an advertising token in the form of a nickel but much larger (7 cms diameter). It has 'Lucky Nickel', a buffalo and the date 1928 on one side and the Woolworth building New York NY on the other. I have not been able to track it down on UK sites and wonder if you can shed light on it (and its likely value?) Thanks

Answer
Paul, these larger almost paperweight like pieces were made around the date that you have, there are pieces for cities and this one for a building, among others.  My memory is that common ones usually go for around $5 or so.  Try going to www.ebay.com and doing searches for Lucky Nickel (might add the word large) Woolworth Building -- if you find nothing try large Lucky Nickel 1928 and similar searches until you see some for sale and can check offer prices and more importantly what has actually been bid, Jim Lawniczak
