Question
I have a 1938 coin with the inscription on one side of KONINGRIJK-DER NEDERLANDEN   the picture in the center appears to be a flower maybe. On the reverse side is 5 cents.  This coin is about the size of a penny but is square with rounded edges and silver in color.  Would you be able to give me some information on this?
Thank you.

Answer
Hi Linda, There were 4.2 million of these copper-nickel Netherlands 5 cents coins minted that year during the reign of Queen Wilhelmina (1890-1948). It features an orange branch.
Collector value may be worth about .75 with heavy wear to around $3.50 with moderate wear to maybe $4.50 with light wear.
You might also try a library for a copy of the Standard Catalog of World Coins for pictures, values and lots more interesting info.
