Answer
Hi Ken, There were 11,000 of these Proof $25 coins struck at the Franklin Mint that year featuring Queen Elizabeth II (1952-) and an osprey. It is 50% gold and contains .0241 of an ounce of gold.
Current gold and silver values: http://www.kitco.com/market/ .
Collector value may be about $40.
You might try Ebay.com for similar pieces for comparison.
You might also try a library for a copy of the Standard Catalog of World Coins for pictures, values and lots more interesting info.
