Question
I just ame upon a 2 headed Jefferson nickel, which was among my father in law's old coin collection. One side is 1945 & the other side is 1948. What can you tell me about this. Is it possible it is genuine? Thanks for your help

Answer
Hi Joseph, This is a 'magic coin' made by carefully fitting two halves of two different coins together. They can often be found in novelty or magic shops for a couple dollars. A seam on the edge may or may not be visible.
You might take it by a local coin shop for a first hand opinion: http://find.mapmuse.com/interest/coin_dealers .
