QuestionHello
I'm attempting to put my dad's coin collection in some form of order.
I have 6 coins with Carolvs II D.G. Hisp.ania.P. Rex on it the date is 1687 no monetary value written on it. On the other side is the world with cornocopia and crown
I also have 2 coins with Infans 1753 Hispaniar and a coat of arms with crown on one side and on the other the words Car.D.G. Utr. Sic.Et.Hier.Rex
One coin 1689 hierus G.X.ViriVs Sic on one side and the other I can only make out the word Carolvs
I'm having a hard time finding any information on these coins on the web. Can you please identify them for me.
Also can you tell me where on the web I can find the value of old coins. I have a few Italian coins from the 1600, 1700, and 1800. I found a site that is helful for the 1900.
AnswerHi Linda, Collector value of a coin depends on denomination (face value), date, mint mark (if any), number minted and condition of a coin, including amount of wear, any dents, scratches or cleaning as well as collector demand for it.
Without knowing the denominations (face value) of the coins and the mintmarks a value is impossible to set. What is the writing on each and the size?
If you have pictures (not over 1 megabyte each please) you can email them to me at tbirde@psknet.com.
You might also try a library for a copy of the Standard Catalog of World Coins for pictures, values and lots more interesting info.
With more info I'll be glad to help further.
