QuestionI have 50 pesos 37.5gr of pure gold dated 1821-1947. It is in good condition, clean and shine, like a brand new. I would like to know the actual value for this coin.
Also I have many coins of 1849 no L, and 1852(O)- Closed Wreath. Could you please give me an idea the value for collectionist? Excellent condition, clean & bright, brand new. Never were used.
AnswerHi Libby, There were about 4 million of these Mexican 50 Pesos coins dated 1947 minted 1949-72. This coin should weigh 41.6666 grams and would contain 1.2056 of an ounce of gold.
It may be worth about 3% over its gold value.
Current gold and silver values:

Collector value of a coin depends on denomination (face value), date, mint mark (if any), number minted and condition of a coin, including amount of wear, any dents, scratches or cleaning as well as collector demand for it.
I have no idea if those 1849 and 1852 coins are cents, dollars or something else.
U.S. coin prices for professionally graded coins:

and ungraded coins:

Ungraded coins (raw) are worth less depending on amount of wear and collector demand.
