Question
I have a an old coin that I think is Norwegian.  It is dated 1760 appears to be made of copper.  the front has two crossed arrows with 2.OR on the left and S.M on the right.  There is a crown at the top. The back has a crest with a lion in the middle.  A large crown at the top and three smaller crowns, placed one on the middle left, middle right and one at the bottom. Can you tell me what it is and if it has any value.

Answer
Hi Susan, There were 558,000 of these copper Swedish 2 ore coins minted that year during the reign of King Adolf Frederick (1751-71). Collector value may be worth about $3 with heavy wear to around $30 with moderate wear to maybe $60 with light wear.
You might also try a library for a copy of the Standard Catalog of World Coins for pictures, values and lots more interesting info.
