Coin and Paper Money Collecting/Rare misprint

Question
I have a 2006 South Dakota D-mint coin that does not have the Silver on the heads side. It's in fair to good shape, as I got it opening a roll of used quarters from work.

What's it value? Is it worth saving?

Answer
Chris,

These unfinished planchet errors on the state quarters have been selling well on eBay.  You may get as much as $300 to $400 for it -- BUT you need to get it certified by either PCGS or NGC first.  Check out the following websites for information on how to get it certified :

http://www.pcgs.com

http://www.ngccoin.com

Whether you save it or sell it, you should get it certified.

Expertise

My strong familiarity with all U.S. Mint coins, extensive reference library, and close relationships with many other dealers allows me to identify just about any coin made in the USA. I receive regular updates to all the current price guides -- both wholesale & retail -- to provide accurate values. So, with a good description or pictures, I should be able to identify and value any U.S. coin you have.

Experience

I've been a coin dealer since the 1980's and a coin collector since the 1960's. I specialize in U.S. Silver Coins and have an active online website -- The Working Man's Rare Coins -- http://www.workingmancoins.com -- offering information and inventory in U.S. coins.
