Question
I got a United States Silver Half Dollar Collection of the Walking Liberty, Benjamin Franklin, John F. Kennedy. There in a cherry wood box with a Certificate which is Certified by the American Historic Society. Not sure if that's any help, but the coins are from the year 1934-1964 there's 30 coins in total. The printing on them are visible could provide a picture if needed. What is the value for a set like this or rather yet for each coin?

Answer
Jesse,

Knowing the type of stuff the "American Historic Society" -- which is just a fancy name for some guy's company -- sells, I would be extremely surprised if any of the coins in the set were worth mor than the silver melt value.  This would make the 30 coins worth about $150 -- you might get a couple more dollars for the fancy box.

Stuff like this is interesting for a collector, but almost invariably a money loser.

Expertise

My strong familiarity with all U.S. Mint coins, extensive reference library, and close relationships with many other dealers allows me to identify just about any coin made in the USA. I receive regular updates to all the current price guides -- both wholesale & retail -- to provide accurate values. So, with a good description or pictures, I should be able to identify and value any U.S. coin you have.

Experience

I've been a coin dealer since the 1980's and a coin collector since the 1960's. I specialize in U.S. Silver Coins and have an active online website -- The Working Man's Rare Coins -- http://www.workingmancoins.com -- offering information and inventory in U.S. coins.
