Question
Hi have a large coin that has a dragon on one side with the writing KIRIN PROVINCE 7.CANDARINS.2   On the other side it has 4 japanese characters around the top 6 japanese characters around the bottom. A 1/4" in from the edge is a circle made of tiny dots. Within that circle is a plant on a stand with japanese characters at each 1/4 mark. What is this and is it worth anything? Thanx! Laura

Answer
Hi Laura,
What you have is a silver Dollar from China, not Japan.
These are silver.  Some are only worth their silver content of about $10, while others can be valuable.  However, many replicas were made, even to this day.
My best guess is that it is a common piece worth about $10.
