Question
i have two coins that i would like to know the value of.

the first one in a 1913 silver, 5 cent coin with georgivs v dei gra rex et ind imp on the reverse side.

The second coin is a 1918 Canadian one cent coin with the same thing on the back side (georgivs v dei gra rex et ind imp).

both of the coins have a picture of George on the back wearing a crown.

Answer
Hi Ron, the first should have a country name on it. With more info I'll be glad to help further.
Both feature British King George V (1910-36) and the abbreviated Latin legend stands for 'By the Grace of God, Ruler and King of Britain, Defender of the Faith, Emperor of India'.
A 1913 Canadian (for example) 5c coin would contain .0346 of an ounce of silver. There were 5.5 million minted that year. Collector value may be worth about $1.50 with heavy wear to around $4 with moderate wear to maybe $7.50 with light wear.
There were 13 million of the 1918 1c coins minted that year and it may be worth about .30, .90, $2.25 in same conditions as listed above.
You might try Ebay.com for similar pieces for comparison.
You might also try a library for a copy of the Standard Catalog of World Coins, Coins of Canada, or Standard Catalogue of Canadian Coins for pictures, values and lots more interesting info.
