QuestionQUESTION: i have a 1993 5 Deutsche mark coin that i am wondering how much it is worth and where i might be able to sell it if you could help me at all with this i would appreciate it and thank you for your time reading this
ANSWER: Hi Nick, It may be worth about .50 to $6 depending on amount of wear and collector demand. There were about 3 million minted that year at each of the 5 mints. The mintmark letter is below the date. It is made of copper-nickel clad nickel.
You might also try a library for a copy of the Standard Catalog of World Coins for pictures, values and lots more interesting info.

QUESTION: thank for responding and your time the coin has a mint mark of a j can you please tell me any more about it.it is in very good shape .and maybe if at all possible it has writing around the edge and on the front where the 5 is do you maybe know what they say.thank you again for your time and please have a nice day or night.
AnswerHi Nick, There were 3.4 million of these West German 5 Mark coins minted in Hamburg (J) that year and collector value may be worth about .50 with heavy wear to around $1 with moderate wear to maybe $3 with light wear to perhaps $6 if uncirculated. The writing is the name of the country and the denomination (face value) of the coin.
