Question
Hello, I am an beginer coin collector and im VERY curious why my 1990 D lincoln memorial penny Looks like a nickel? It's same size as a penny and looks like one, but it's colored like a nickel. I've looked on the internet and other people seem to have the same kind of penny. Could you help me out? Is the coin worthless?

Answer
Hi Johnny,
Since 1982, Lincoln Cents have been made of copper coated zinc.  Most likely,, either the copper was never applied, or has simply been removed or worn away.
If it was never applied, your coin could be worth some good money.
