i have been collecting different forms of currency for many years. I would like to know if this particular paper currency is worth more than its face value?

1000 Indonesian Rupiah is currently worth about 11 U.S. cents.
You might also try a library for a copy of the Standard Catalog of World Paper Money for pictures, values and lots more interesting info.
