on back of coin there is a man in a robe with his back facing out holding a staff in his left hand and right hand pointing up.He wears a crown on his head.It look like there is a letter m under him.There is inscriptions around the edges on both sides of the coin.It is posibly brass.Is there a value for this coin? Hi Dean, you may have a 25 millimeters replica of a 38 millimeters 90% silver Lombardy 5 Francs coin. The genuine piece weighs 25 grams and may be worth $20-$400+ depending on amount of wear and collector demand.
The replica, which has no readable words in the inscriptions, was reportedly a cereal box prize back in the seventies I believe.
You might also try a library for a copy of the Standard Catalog of World Coins for pictures, values and lots more interesting info.
