Coin and Paper Money Collecting/1902 Nickel

Question
I have a 1902 Nickel that I would say is in good condition, not mint. I've seen the value of a mint one on a coin site to be $2,200. The coin I have has the initials WLS and the a date of 10.14.02 engraved on the face of the coin. It was obviously done with a machine of some sort because the letters and numbers are that of a type writer. How much would that depreciate the coin?

Answer
You are confused or someone is dreaming of a price they would like to get. A perfect certified Uncirculated 1902 Liberty nickle would not bring $500.00. Not even a gem Proof would bring $2200.00. A coin collector would have no interest at all in a coin with engraving. What you have is a Love Token, a popular gift from one lover to another in 1902. A love token collector might like your coin, but in the $25.00 range if the engraving is well done.
