Question

Picture of.
Hi,
I was going through some coins today, and found a 1909 Deutsches Reich 1 Pfennig. It is old, and it caught my eye, mixed in with a bunch of pennies, and I was like, Well that's not a penny.! Haha, COuld I have some information on this coin? I could give you a picture if you like. You can tell it has been in circulation for a while due to the age, but the words and the bird on the other side are excellent, and you can still read them just fine.
Thanks,
Email back please!
Mike.

Answer
Hi Mike, there is a mintmark letter under the eagle on this copper German 1 pfennig coin that may affect its value. The most common is an A (Berlin) which collector value may be worth about .10 with heavy wear to around .75 with moderate wear to maybe $3 with light wear.
You might also try a library for a copy of the Standard Catalog of World Coins for pictures, values and lots more interesting info.
