Coin and Paper Money Collecting/1950-1964 US Coins

Question
I have about $30 to $40 worth of quarters, nickles, and dimes that range between the years of 1950 and 1964. I got them as a gift from my father when I was a child but the coin collecting bug never really took with me as it had with him. I'm not sure how to sell them or even what they are worth. I've seen several different estimates online and am not sure of the actual going price at present or even who to talk to.

Any help you could provide would be appreciated.
Thank you!

Answer
Hello Amber,
If the coins are circulated (Used), this is the rule of thumb.  The nickels are not silver and just worth face value.
Dimes and Quarters are 90% silver and worth about 12 times the face value, so a dime is worth $1.20 and a quarters is worth $3.  If they are in mint condition, they are worth more than that.  I hope this helped.
