Question
Hi Brad,
I have a 1971 Commonwealth of the Bahama Islands Gold coin set consisting of $100.00, $50.00, $20.00 & $10.00 from the Royal Canadian Mint, uncirculated, in the package it came in. What is the value of this? Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you,
Barry

Answer
Hi Barry, There were 6800 of these uncirculated sets originally issued for $185. It contains 2.1196 ounces of gold (currently about $2400). It is likely worth a bit more than that depending on amount of collector demand.
You might try Ebay.com for similar sets for comparison.
You might also try a library for a copy of the Standard Catalog of World Coins for pictures, values and lots more interesting info.
