Hi Kathy, this aluminum-bronze alloy Mexican 100 Pesos coin features Venustiano Carranza, revolutionary leader and president (1917-20), a design used 1984-92. The national symbol of an eagle sitting on a cactus eating a snake is on the other side.
Due to a 1992 currency reform 1000 old Pesos was converted to one New Peso (~10c U.S.).
Collector value of a coin depends on date, mint mark (if any), number minted and condition of a coin, including amount of wear, any dents, scratches or cleaning as well as collector demand for it.
There were 43 million of these minted in Mexico City (Mo) in 1986 and collector value may be worth about .25 with heavy wear to around $1 with moderate wear to maybe $2.50 with light wear.
You might also try a library for a copy of the Standard Catalog of World Coins for pictures, values and lots more interesting info.
