Question
I have a 5 cent canada coin stamped with 1913 with a dot at the end of 1913. It has a crown and leaves going up either side. On the face of the coin it is GeorgeV Delgrada Rex etindmp. Would you be able to tell me about the coin and what its fair market value is today. Thanks.

Answer
Hi Medina,
The value on this coin, as well as others like it, depends very much on condition. They start at just a dollar or two for a well used coin and can go over $50 for one in mint condition.
If you would like to post a follow-up question with a picture of the coin, or direct me to one in similar condition elsewhere on the internet, I can give you a more exact value on it.
Thanks for the question! =)

Expertise

My specialty is world coins from the 18th to 20th centuries, primarily non-US foreign coins and related areas such as errors and exonumia (tokens, medals, etc.). I can answer questions relating to identification, grading, selling, preservation and evaluation of such items. In addition to catalog value, I can give you the practical market value and trends for specific types of coins. I will also take questions regarding counterfeits (both modern and antique) and on how to identify them. I am NOT knowledgeable in paper money/banknotes, ancient or "shipwreck" coins. Thank you.
