Question
This coin has $5000 with the words cincuetenario exproiacion petrolera.the face has an eagle with a snake in it's mouth and the words estados unidos mexicanos Is this worth anything?

Answer
Hi Gloria, There were 50 million of these copper-nickel Mexican 5000 Pesos coin commemorating the 50th anniversary of the nationalization of the oil industry.
Mexico had a monetary reform in 1992 that converted 1000 Pesos into 1 New Peso (about .11 U.S.).
It's collector value may be worth up to about about $1 with heavy wear to around $2 with moderate wear to maybe $5 with light wear to maybe $8 if uncirculated.
You might also try a library for a copy of the Standard Catalog of World Coins for pictures, values and lots more interesting info.
