Question
I have a lot of Haitian Coins that I've sat on for forty years! When going through I find several different busts on the AN 14 25 centimes coins and although the obverses have the same pattern the strikes are different like night and day. Is there a significant difference in value? What can you tell me about the coins? George

Answer
Hi George, these were crudely struck so there are many varieties. There are only two main types of these listed in the Standard Catalog of World Coins, as KM-15.1 and .2. They feature President Petion. One, without a P below the bust, collector value may be worth about $2 with heavy wear to around $16.50 with moderate wear to maybe $37.50 with light wear. With the P $10, $85, $200 in the same conditions as listed above.
You might try Ebay.com for similar pieces for comparison.
You might also try a library for a copy of the Standard Catalog of World Coins for pictures, values and lots more interesting info.
