Coin and Paper Money Collecting/Selling my collection

Question
I've collected coins since 1957, and amassed (by Redbook) an extensive collection worth upwards of $ 45,000.  How do I go about selling the entire collection, easily, and get the most for its value?  It's almost entirely U.S. coins of all denominations with many key dates, but also many many common date "doubles" and extras.
I have had dealers say "to bring it all in and we'll give you an estimate", but I'm leary to trust dealers by leaving the whole collection to just anyone in today's world.

Answer
Hello Robert,

Where are you located?  Maybe I can help you personally, that is why I ask.

Bear in mind that Redbook is retail prices and in this economy, these prices are usually much higher than what the market will bear.  You may be looking at half of Redbook when it's time to sell.  There are coins listed in Redbook for $5 that NO ONE wants simply because they are so plentiful and readily available.

If you have an inventory, send it to me at JoeHylas@aol.com

I will review it and advise you the best I can.
