Question
How much would a Monroe /Adams 1923 half dollar be worth in good condition?

Also I had a complete set of Marshall Island $50 Space Exploration coins which were purchased for $1200(24 of them)
in 1986.  They were all stolen this year at the school where I teach.  How do you think the thief will dispose of them and what could they gewt for them?

Thank you!

Answer
Hi David, the half dollar collector value may be worth about $15 with heavy wear to around $25 with moderate wear to maybe $50 with light wear to $85+ if uncirculated. There were 274,077 minted that year.
The $50 coins are 1 ounce of silver each. Collector value may be about $20-$25 each depending on amount of collector demand.

I suggest you try pawn shops and coin shops. Sorry for your loss!!!
You might take it by a local coin shop for a first hand opinion: http://find.mapmuse.com/interest/coin_dealers .
