Question
I found a morgan silver dollar at the river the other day!! Its in poor condition but I am wondering what the value is? Its 1889, but I cant seem to find a proof mark. Any sugestions?

Answer
The mintmark, if there is one, would be located under the Eagle's feathers.  It would be either an "O", an "S", or a "CC".  If there is no mintmark, it means it was made in Philadelphia.
In poor condition, it is worth silver value which is about $13.
