Question
hello,   I have a 1858 penny that puts it during Abraham Lincoln's era.  Is the worth anything? I also  have an 1874 nickel with A 5 printed on it.On the other side is a symbol of some sort.  The other nickel is a 1912 with a "V" on the back . The one with the "V" has a side view of a woman on it.  One more- a 1957 1 cent of Juliana Konigin Der Nederlanden.   Thank you so much for your time and expertise!   Joannna

Answer
Hi Joanna, Collector value of a coin depends on denomination (face value), date, mint mark (if any), number minted and condition of a coin, including amount of wear, any dents, scratches or cleaning as well as collector demand for it.
Following are the value estimates of the coins with heavy, medium and light wear:
1858 Flying Eagle cent, $30, $60, $150.
1874 Shield nickel, $40, $100, $125.
1912 "V" nickel, also known as a Liberty nickel, $1, $30, $65 if no mintmark letter.
1957 1 cent, Netherlands Queen Juliana (1948-80), .10, .20, .25.
You might also try a library for a copy of the Guidebook of United States Coins and Standard Catalog of World Coins for pictures, values and lots more interesting info.
