Question

unknown foreign coin
hello, my son bought some foreign coins for his collection and there is one coin he cannot identify. could you please help. i have attached a picture for you to look at

Answer
Hi Stephen, it is a copper 25 cents from Ethiopia featuring Emperor Haile Selassie (1930-74). There were 30 million issued in 1952-53. It is worth about .25 with that amount of wear.
World coin pictures and some values may be found here: http://worldcoingallery.com/index.htm ,
http://www.coinarchives.com/ , and http://www.numismaster.com/ta/numis.jsp .
He might also try a library for a copy of the Standard Catalog of World Coins for pictures, values and lots more interesting info.
